The latest edition of Florida Bar News Briefs, a weekly podcast dedicated to what’s happening in the legal profession, is now available with stories including:
- Chief Judge Meredith Sasso of the Sixth District Court of Appeal being elevated to the Florida Supreme Court. Sasso is the seventh woman to serve on the Supreme Court and with her appointment, there will be three women sitting on the court simultaneously for the first time in Florida’s history.
- The Young Lawyers Division sponsoring a free webinar June 13 titled “Navigating the Shift: Unpacking Florida’s Tort Reform for Young Lawyers.” The virtual seminar will be conducted via Zoom from noon to 1 p.m.
- The bankruptcy clinic at the University of Miami School of Law wrapping up a case that took more than 13 years to settle.
