What is burnout? According to the APA Dictionary of Psychology, burnout is defined as “physical, emotional or mental exhaustion, accompanied by decreased motivation, lowered performance and negative attitudes towards oneself and others.” During the summer, I had to take a step back from life and take a break from everything. I was overwhelmed with all the transitions happening. We don’t talk much about burnout, but it’s something many people go through. Remember, it’s ok to not be ok, but always know when to reach out for help.
