Episode 37 digs into the hard things that our world tells us it's fine to overlook and walk away from, but God calls us to more. There is freedom found in working through the hard seasons, the hard sin issues, and the hard parts of God's word.

The Lord took Chelsey to Proverbs 2 and showed the gift of wisdom and discernment He has for us. BUT, to get there we have to seek, ask, and dig.

Proverbs 2:1-17

1 My son, if you receive my words

and treasure up my commandments with you,

2 making your ear attentive to wisdom

and inclining your heart to understanding;

3 yes, if you call out for insight

and raise your voice for understanding,

4 if you seek it like silver

and search for it as for hidden treasures,

5 then you will understand the fear of the Lord

and find the knowledge of God.

6 For the Lord gives wisdom;

from his mouth come knowledge and understanding;

7 he stores up sound wisdom for the upright;

he is a shield to those who walk in integrity,

8 guarding the paths of justice

and watching over the way of his saints.

9 Then you will understand righteousness and justice

and equity, every good path;

10 for wisdom will come into your heart,

and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul;

11 discretion will watch over you,

understanding will guard you,

12 delivering you from the way of evil,

from men of perverted speech,

13 who forsake the paths of uprightness

to walk in the ways of darkness,

14 who rejoice in doing evil

and delight in the perverseness of evil,

15 men whose paths are crooked,

and who are devious in their ways.

16 So you will be delivered from the forbidden[a] woman,

from the adulteress[b] with her smooth words,

17 who forsakes the companion of her youth

and forgets the covenant of her God;

• This is what I love about the word and truth of God. It causes us to lean in and listen.

Hard Seasons and Teachable Moments

• When we look back we can all see seasons we allowed God to work in and through us AS WELL as seasons where we chose to walk away from doing the hard work,
• Hard things will always be hard things until we unpack them. LIGHT can't be shed in a place that we lock up and bury.

Fight For Your Faith

• Go deeper
• Keep learning
• Stay teachable
• Fight in prayer for truth
• Bear witness to this dark, jaded world

Peter Denies Jesus

• In Matthew 15:15-16 we see Jesus asks Peter, "who do you say that I am"? Peter responds with, "you are the Christ, the son of the living God."
• The just chapters later, Peter denies Jesus...3 times. It's easy to read this and feel so critical of what Peter did.
• How many of us have denied the call of The Lord. When something seemed to hard, to outlandish. Or we're to selfish, prideful, or busy to give it a second thought.

Courage In Christ and Faith In The Work He's Doing

• We can choose to walk away from something or we can choose to cling to Jesus and walk through it with Him. His word promises us, "understanding with guard us" (Prv. 2:11). "Wisdom will deliver us fom the way of evil". (Prv.2:12)
• This doesn't mean we will be exempt from trials, it gives us a promise of God's provision over our life.

The Best Challenge

• Sit with Him
• Get in His word
• Wrestle out your thoughts and put them on paper
• Pray with someone about these things
• Get with your pastor, mentor, or Christian counselor to ask the hard questions.
