Episode 12 is all about Living With Less Discontentment and what it steals from us. The Lord took me Matthew 6:19-21 and He showed me the earthly things I've been storing up my treasures in. I share a story from a few years ago that continues to rise up from season to season in my life. I hope you leave this episode feeling encouraged to be free of the thief discontentment is, and ask God to show you all you're missing from Him in your heart.
Matthew 6:19-21 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
Discontentment robs the gift of JOY God so graciously wants to give us.
Discontentment is like a leaky valve in your heart, if left unattended it'll send you into spiritual heart failure.
How many times have you been robbed of the joy due to this very word. How many seasons that could've been bearing much fruit ended up filled with grief and sorrow because something else looked better?
We continue to find our selves hungry again for things that look better, when they have nothing life giving to offer.
It's in these places though we can find ourselves desperate for God. Open the Bible up for yourself and ask Him to speak to you. It's amazing what you'll feel when you begin to discern what He's speaking to you. You'll see little by little He's peeling back the layers of you life, asking you to leave things behind because of all the good He has for you instead.
Trust me on this, the truths tucked into the word of God you don't want to miss. These are the treasures that can never be taken from you, they don't rust or become destroyed. They give you life, peace, true contentment.
Don't let the discontentment of this world steal another season of your life. Claim Matthew 6:19-21 and put your treasure in Christ alone.
