Description

Duke Energy Carolinas wants to raise monthly electric bills $10.38 for residential customers in South Carolina starting March 2026.

Duke Energy requested the rate hike because it wants a 7.7% increase in annual revenue, about $150.5 million, to support investments in power grids, improve storm readiness and enhance its generating fleet.

Residential customers would see the highest price hike. The ten dollar increase equals an approximate 7% increase in monthly bills. Commercial and industrial customers will see an increase of about 5.4% and 5.2% respectively.
