Passover #1: The Sacrificial Lamb
Exodus 12:1-6
The first step in celebrating the original Passover was procuring the proper sacrifice for the memorial meal. Each
family was to select a lamb that was without blemish and set it aside until the proper time. This is, of course, the
picture of Jesus as “the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world” (John 1:29). Jesus too, was the
unblemished lamb, selected by God, among us for a while, and then sacrificed for us.
