In this week's episode, our host Allie Brooke discusses how "Counterfactual Thinking" can help break down your anxious thoughts that lead to an overthinking spiral. She references the book "The Perfectionists Guide to Losing Control: A Path To Peace and Power" by Katherine Morgan Schafler. Counterfactual thinking is our brains' way of protecting and preparing for past and future events. When an event happens, our brains go into alternate reality mode to decipher what we could have done better and how to prepare for next time. This thinking can be helpful but, if not regulated can lead to overthinking.
