The Iowa Hawkeyes plugged through the most improbable season where they find themselves face to face with the Michigan Wolverines in Saturday's Big 10 Championship in Indianapolis.
Everybody expected Jim Harbaugh and Michigan to have a shot at the title. But Kirk Ferentz and the Hawkeyes?
They are the first team in NCAA history to average less than 250 yards of offense per game and still manage 10 wins. It's pretty impressive. That was an incredible coaching job by Ferentz. Plus, consider he lost numerous starters to injuries this year and the 10 win season looks even more impressive.
The Hawkeyes are tough and gritty. They embrace the fact that they don't need much offense to win. Their defense and special teams are phenomenal.
They are the clear underdogs vs a mighty Michigan team. But they've been underdogs all season. And, yet, here they are in the Big 10 Championship Game.
