Description

In this episode, Dr. Deja Perkins speaks with aeroecologist Dr. Adriaan Dokter about the study of bird migration with weather radar. Using the vast supply of radars, primarily in the United States, Adriaan and his colleagues at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology research the failure and successes of journeying birds from all over the world. Adriaan also talks about  the power of BirdCast, a weather radar website that tracks the progress of traveling birds in the air each migration season. Learn what they’ve uncovered and how they’re using it to benefit conservation when you press play!
