Description

In this episode of Thinking That Matters, I had the pleasure of speaking with D’Anna Paty, client relationship manager at Valliance Bank in McKinney. D’Anna shared her inspiring journey of starting her banking career at just 18 to provide for her daughter, Emma, and how her passion for building relationships and giving back to the community has shaped her life and career.

D’Anna opened up about the challenges she faced as a single mother, her transition from traditional banking to community banking, and the joy she finds in engaging with local nonprofits. She emphasized the importance of pursuing what excites you rather than following traditional paths, including the changing perspectives on college education in today’s world.

As we explored her professional growth, D’Anna reflected on overcoming her initial struggles with confidence, developing relationship-building skills in a low-foot-traffic environment, and the power of self-talk in breaking through limiting beliefs. Her involvement in Leadership McKinney has been a transformative experience, helping her deepen her connection with the community and enhance her leadership abilities.

Throughout the conversation, she highlighted the importance of intentional thinking in fostering personal growth and building meaningful relationships.

Meet Elizabeth Mahusay:

Elizabeth grew up a self-starter who as a young woman prided herself on her independence and self-sufficiency. She found herself challenged to develop deep and meaningful relationships because of her prideful “know-it-all” approach to life and work. She projected that she was perfect yet struggled to deal with failure, thoughts of insecurity, and the feeling of inadequacy. Through her study of the Bible, time as an entrepreneur, and the accountability of some great mentors Elizabeth, is a transformed woman. Today, she passionately invests her time helping others transform their thinking.

Elizabeth is author of the recently published Transform My Thinking, God study on the book of Philippians.
