Scott Drew has created a program that is elite in college basketball. That word, elite, is one that is just a hair shy of blue-blood, and it's no mistake that Baylor's brand has reached that point. Sports Illustrated's Director of Basketball Recruiting Jason Jordan joins Locked On Baylor to discuss how Baylor is taking over as a premiere program.
To start, Jordan acknowledges Keyonte George and how his skill will keep Baylor firmly on the map in 2022. The freshman guard has not played an NCAA game, but he is primed to be a star early on for Drew and company. After tearing apart competition in Canada, George has proven that both his mentality and athleticism can carry him to the top of the college game.
When it comes to recruiting looking forward, Baylor is sitting pretty. Jordan considers a call from Drew and the Bears to be on par with Duke, Villanova and the like. Plenty of recruits he has spoken to have been over the moon after getting looks from the boys from Waco.
