Baylor football's third season under Dave Aranda was anything but what we all expected. Most Bears' fans and analysts would have put the team's floor at eight wins, but here they sit at 6-6 after the year. Even wins on the road against Oklahoma, Texas Tech and Iowa State could not amount to competing for the Big 12 championship. This season was simply disappointing.
Then there's the quarterback conversation. For Baylor, Blake Shapen just did not produce what he was supposed to. The team was 6-6, and the quarterback play was seriously a factor. Shapen just never came along, and his confidence was consistently low.
