Description

The Baylor football program is stacked in 2022. You can make the case that the Bears are less stacked this season than they were last year, but that simply wouldn't be true. Even with the departures of Tyquan Thornton, Terrel Bernard and Jalen Pitre, Baylor is still picked to win the Big 12 championship.

That said, there's little expectation for any freshmen to make an instant impact. Aside from special teams, when is the last time Baylor had a first-year player be a star? This season may be no different than most.

However, John Garcia Jr. of Sports Illustrated joins the show to talk about guys that might just step into immediate roles. According to John, wide receiver Armani Winfield, tight end Kaian Roberts-Day and safety Alfonzo Allen could see the field right away. In an age of college football where true freshmen are replaced by older transfers, these guys might just get a shot soon.
