The preseason countdown continues with the Chicago White Sox at No. 8. They won just 72 games last season but there may not have been a team more aggressive about improving their roster in the offseason.
Adding Yasmani Grandal, Nomar Mazara, and Edwin Encarnacion adds some pop to a lineup that already had solid veterans Jose Abreu and Tim Anderson, along with rising stars Yoan Moncada and Eloy Jimenez. Add in a couple of talented rookies, Luis Robert and Nick Madrigal, and the White Sox lineup is that of a contender.
The question will be whether the pitching staff can do its part. Lucas Giolito has emerged as the ace and the White Sox added veteran left-handers Dallas Keuchel and Gio Gonzalez.
