Description

Welcome to Hail Media I'm Brian Wallace, MS Michigan Man 64, Left Tackle for Michigan Wolverines 1988-1991. This is where a former Wolverine gets real about life after football - battles you don't see coming and training that prepared us to take everything on!

Today I'm talking with Jeff from Colorado, diagnosed with MS in 1996 after having vision issues. Jeff worked for Mercedes as one of the best auto techs in the country and we talk about how he handled being told he had a chronic disease at 30 years old.

We talk about the mental part of the diagnosis and how his dad lived with MS and Jeff didn't want to follow in his footsteps.

We have a conversation about how we attacked our disease early in our diagnosis and how Jeff became a body builder, competing on stage after his diagnosis winning the competition and how he adapted throughout his life never letting mS define him.

Jeff is an amazing artist and poet, a talent he never knew he had until he that outside the box figuring out ways to continue through life. Jeff has been featured in news stories about living with MS and always looks at life as what he can still do instead of what he can't and how MS (My Situation) has to be the best you can make it.

Check out some of Jeff's art her and on my FaceBook.

FAM is a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to mental health and assisting former Michigan team members with life's struggles after football, whether they are mental or physical. Division 1 football at the level we played it is brutal, and not all players come out of it in one piece. Visit www.michiganfootballalumni.org for more info and to make a tax-deductible donation.
