Description

Welcome to Hail Media I'm Brian Wallace, MS Michigan Man 64, Left Tackle for Michigan Wolverines 1988-1991. This is where a former Wolverine gets real about life after football - battles you don't see coming and training that prepared us to take everything on!

Today I'm talking with Millie from New York, diagnosed with MS in 2006, but had symptoms four years earlier as she was getting ready to graduate from college. Millie had vision issues but she was uninsured so she couldn't receive the care she needed to get diagnosed sooner and also.

We talk about how she got denied for medicaid coverage and then she ended up working for the US Department of Health and Human Service as an auditor for 20 years after diagnosis.

Millie and I talk about everything from being diagnosed young and how we had to figure our MS out and get an attitude as early as we could.

We talk about DMT's and also get into the system she spent 20 years of her life working in and how it's broken for people with disabilities and elderly people.

We also want to call your attention to Football Alumni of Michigan - an organization that we care deeply about. Follow them here at ‪‪‪ ⁨@michiganfootballalumni⁩ . FAM is a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to mental health and assisting former Michigan team members with life's struggles after football, whether they are mental or physical. Division 1 football at the level we played it is brutal, and not all players come out of it in one piece. Visit www.michiganfootballalumni.org for more info and to make a tax-deductible donation.
