Description

Welcome to Hail Media I'm Brian Wallace, MS Michigan Man 64, Left Tackle for Michigan Wolverines 1988-1991. This is where a former Wolverine gets real about life after football - battles you don't see coming and training that prepares us to take everything on!

Today I'm talking with Maria from Ohio, diagnosed with PPMS in 2012. Maria actually had symptoms for 10-12 years prior she went to doctors but couldn't get any answers. Finally, she advocated for herself to her general practitioner who ordered an MRI which lit up like a CHristmas tree, giving her an MS diagnosis.

We talk about how she made the decision to not go the traditional DMT route and attack her disease by taking better care of what she put into her body.

We talk about the benefits she gets from Gonstead chiropractic techniques and how it has improved her mobility.

We talk about her son Steven who is in his residency to become a neurologist and how they have different approaches but he accepts his mom"s choice to not use DMT's.

Maria talks about how she hopes her son expands his knowledge beyond what he is learning in med school and will understand there is more than one way to approach things.

FAM is a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to mental health and assisting former Michigan team members with life's struggles after football, whether they are mental or physical. Division 1 football at the level we played it is brutal, and not all players come out of it in one piece. Visit www.michiganfootballalumni.org for more info and to make a tax-deductible donation.
