Welcome to Year Two of the TigerTalk Podcast at Northeast Mississippi Community College. Last week we celebrated the one-year episode of the podcast and this week, we kick off Year Two of the program that brings you in-studio guest interviews each week with one of the top listings of events on campus. In this forty-ninth (49th) episode of the TigerTalk podcast presented by Northeast Mississippi Community College, host Will Kollmeyer welcomes Tiger head basketball coach Cord Wright to the studio as Wright talks about the upcoming 6th Man Club Banquet along with his fall scrimmage on Friday, October 26 against Freed-Hardeman University, Columbia State (Tenn.) and Bevill State (Ala.). In addition to his upcoming scrimmage, Wright talks about the alumni from the Tiger basketball program, who have gone on to earn their degrees and also continue their basketball careers at four-year colleges and universities. Wright also talks about one of his favorite parts of being a basketball coach -- the Little Dribblers program -- where he brings in students from pre-K to sixth grade and begins to teach them the fundamentals of basketball. In the second half of the program, a pair of officers from the college's Iota Zeta chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society stop by to promote their panel discussion on Tuesday, October 30. President Jada Carney of Tupelo and vice president of scholarship Avaline Morris of Burnsville give their insights on Brain Drain in Mississippi and talk about the guests that will be part of the four-person panel discussion in the Black and Gold Room of the Haney Union. Kollmeyer wraps up the podcast with a new addition to the publication -- an extended version of what is coming up on campus that details events happening on and around the Northeast campus in a daily breakdown. It contains one of the most comprehensive lists of events and happenings on campus -- so if you have an event or happening on campus and want it mentioned on the podcast, please reach out. If you haven't subscribed to the podcast, now would be a good time to subscribe to stay up-to-date on all the happenings on the Northeast campuses and hear in-depth interviews with guests each week.
