In this fifty-fifth (55th) edition of the TigerTalk podcast presented by Northeast Mississippi Community College, host Will Kollmeyer welcomes NEMCC Jails to Jobs Navigator Brent Johnson to the podcast to talk about his upcoming completion ceremony on Wednesday, December 12 where approximately 10 Mississippi Department of Corrections inmates will be awarded for completing at 15-week program at the Alcorn County Regional Correctional Facility. Johnson also talks about the steps that Northeast and other entities are taking to reduce recidivism in Mississippi and how the Jails to Jobs program is looking to expand. Johnson lets listeners in on plans to work into a short-term Prentiss County program that will hopefully help the inmates in Prentiss County and then the surrounding counties as well. In the second half of the podcast, Kollmeyer sits down with Northeast Most Beautiful 2018 Caleigh Scroggins of Booneville as the pair discuss Scroggins becoming the sixth straight freshman to win the pageant along with her time as a freshman at Northeast. Scroggins talks about the college's 1:1 iPad initiative program and how it has helped her in the classroom along with some of her time management skills and her hobbies when she isn't a nursing major, cheerleader or helping out with other campus events. Kollmeyer wraps up the podcast with a new addition to the publication -- an extended version of what is coming up on campus that details events happening on and around the Northeast campus in a daily breakdown.
