In this seventy-first (71st) edition of the TigerTalk podcast presented by Northeast Mississippi Community College, host Will Kollmeyer welcomes Northeast senior research associate Michael Byrd, Northeast student Roxanna Tucker and college navigator Andrea Hardin to the podcast. Byrd opens up about the office of institutional research and all the continuous planning that goes on behind the scenes that the office does to make the college successful. It's not just collecting data in the office of institutional research. It's about how people interpret that data and how said data can be used to make Northeast an even better community college -- from student life to class surveys to graduation surveys, all that data is compiled to help Northeast improve. In a rare double interview, Kollmeyer welcomes Northeast student Roxanna Tucker and college navigator Andrea Hardin to the podcast in the second half of the show. Tucker talks about what all she went through in life before finding salvation and Northeast and it is through salvation that she has been able to turn her life around and become a student at Northeast. Tucker obtained her GED from Northeast, is a Second Chance student and has just completed her first semester as a college student and plans to major in journalism and get her four-year degree. Hardin has been Tucker's navigator and is on hand to talk about the process that aided Tucker into becoming successful. In addition to talking about how to enroll in the Northeast GED programs, Mi-BEST or Smart Start programs, Hardin points out that most of the programs offered are offered at free or little cost to the student.
