Description

In this seventy-third (73rd) edition of the TigerTalk podcast presented by Northeast Mississippi Community College, host Will Kollmeyer welcomes one-stop navigator Erica Miller and director of facility operations Mark Hatfield to the podcast. Miller opens up the show talking about the moves that Orientation has made especially switching from Tuesday to Thursdays this year and how Orientation helps incoming students -- whether it is a first-time freshman or a non-traditional student. Orientation helps a student view the campus, talk to their advisors and takes a little of the stress away from the first day of school. In the second half of the show, Hatfield talks about all that his department does and how they use the summer to work on major projects on campus. Hatfield gives information on some of the bigger projects that will happen during the summer months such as new lighting and a visitor's side press box at Tiger Stadium, increased lighting around campus and renovations to the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system in Waller Hall along with some summer maintenance tips about lawn care and air conditioning preventive maintenance.
