As with the summer podcast schedule, the TigerTalk podcast is trying something different and delivering news, events and interviews every two weeks instead of weekly during the summer months of June and July. However, so that listeners feel like they are getting their monies worth from the podcast, this week includes three guests with events and happenings scattered throughout the podcast. So, be listening for those events between interviews. In the first part of the three-part podcast, Chassie Kelly talks a little about Orientation and why it is so important for students to register for Orientation and also take full advantage of their time on campus during the summer to get all their paperwork done and not be behind at the start of school. Kelly also talks in depth about the state's Complete2Compete program that helps former students find ways of finishing their degrees. From scholarships at the state level to checking coursework and seeing how close a person is to a degree -- and in some instances, some never asked for a diploma, Kelly talks about how the Complete2Compete process starts and how a person interested in checking on their degree progress would go about it. In the middle portion of the podcast, Blake Long stops in to talk about all the spring sports and some breaking professional news coming from athletics. Long breaks down the seasons for softball and baseball and brags on their success on the diamond and in the classroom while talking about the six former Tigers who are in the National Football League at the moment. In the final portion of the three-part podcast, Kurt Klynen, a director with Joy of PL (Joy of Professional Learning) stops in to give some insight into his presentation at the Mobile Learning Conference and also how he ended up in the United States from Belgium. The former physical education teacher now travels the world helping educators learn and develop their own styles for instructing students. Klynen talks about making learning fun and exciting not only for students but also for instructors as well. Between the interviews, Will Kollmeyer gives a rundown on the camps that will be happening at the college throughout the summer, traffic updates and everything that will be happening on the Northeast campus in the next two weeks.
