As with the summer podcast schedule, the** TigerTalk podcast** is trying something different and delivering news, events and interviews every two weeks instead of weekly during the summer months of June and July. However, so that listeners feel like they are getting their monies worth from the podcast, this week includes three guests with events and happenings scattered throughout the podcast. So, be listening for those events between interviews. In the first part of the three-part podcast, Kyle Carpenter joins the podcast about a major change to the TIGER Workforce Camp - where it is changing locations from Corinth to the New Albany campus in Union County. In addition to the change of location, some of the courses in the camp will change as well with the addition of Robotic Coding. Carpenter takes the time to talk about the new Robotic Coding class that will start on July 29 in New Albany along with the Precision Manufacturing/Industrial Maintenance classes that the college offers not only in New Albany but also in Corinth for free. In the middle portion of the podcast, Christy Grissom drops by to talk about the college's hospitality management program, which used to be the hotel/restaurant management program and how changes in the industry necessitated the change in the program. Grissom talks about some of the college's success stories, where some of the students from the program are employed and about her own trek through the program under the late Tim Gilmore and his encouragement of her to not just major in one topic but to come back and pick up a second degree during her student time in Booneville. In the final portion of the three-part podcast, Rod Coggin stops in to talk about housing on the Northeast campus. From getting your fees paid to what to bring to the residence halls, Coggin covers a wide variety of topics pertaining to housing. In addition to addressing housing, Coggin talks about the busy summer that Northeast has seen and will see during the month of July with a pair of basketball camps, a private camp, two more Career Development Academy camps and many more things that will keep the campus buzzing with activity. Between the interviews, Will Kollmeyer gives a rundown on the camps that will be happening at the college throughout the summer, traffic updates and everything that will be happening on the Northeast campus in the next two weeks. Along with changing the format of the podcast, for the ones that have a YouTube accounts, we have also started a YouTube account, http://bit.ly/NEMCCTigerTalkYouTube , and we will be putting all our podcasts on our YouTube channel as time allows. Future guests on the podcast, do not fret; this is an audio-only YouTube account with the video produced by the Headliner App. As always, if you have any podcast ideas or want to be a guest on the podcast, drop me or Will a line and we can get you set up….but with the new system of only three guests per show, every two weeks…slots are limited…so get your requests in early.
