In episode 96, host Will Kollmeyer welcomes lead welding instructor Anthony Hardin to the podcast to talk about how Northeast is partnering with area companies such as New Way Trucking to deliver a well-educated and job-ready workforce. Hardin talks about what all goes into his program and how the industry is changing. According to research, by 2024, America will be looking for 400,000 new welders as the average age of a welder is 55 and only 20-percent of the job force is below the age of 35. In the second half of the show, Kollmeyer talks with sophomore softball players Alexis McGreger and Maddie Tucker about the team's involvement in the community over the last week. It was a busy week for the Lady Tiger softball team as they participated in The Letter Project that allows successful women to write letters to those who may be going through a hard situation and offer a bit of encouragement. In addition to The Letter Project, the softball team also visited area nursing homes to bring some Christmas cheer with caroling, spent their entire Saturday at the Booneville/Prentiss County "Breakfast with Santa" and adopted an area family for Christmas. Between the segments, Kollmeyer gives a rundown of events that are happening in the next 10 days and also mentions a few events to be on the lookout for later in the month.
