In episode 98, host Will Kollmeyer welcomes Northeast executive vice president Dr. Craig-Ellis Sasser to the podcast to give an update on things happening around the college. In the interview, Sasser talks about the changes that the Haney Union and Murphy Hall have undergone during the break with new furniture and more student-friendly spaces and the executive vice president also gives an update on the progress being made at the Northeast at Ripley campus. Since its groundbreaking a few short months ago, construction crews have made large gains in getting the campus up and running. In turning to sports, Sasser talks about the Northeast Baseball/Softball Complex and how that project is coming along and how anxious Richy Harrelson's Tiger baseball team and Jody Long's Lady Tiger softball team are to begin practicing at the new facility. Sasser reminds the public that the dedication and ribbon cutting on the facility is set for Saturday, February 1 at noon and also talks about the newest recruiting/marketing tool for the college -- a new website set to debut very soon. In the second half of the podcast, Burgess Fitness Center director Robert Walker stops in as part of his health promotions part of his occupation to talk about all that the Burgess Fitness Center has to offer to not only employees and students but to the Booneville/Prentiss County community as well. Walker talks about the addition of classes to the Spring 2020 Class Schedule at Burgess and with the addition of Saturday classes, Burgess will now offer classes six days a week with Tuesday and Wednesday being the heaviest classes with five courses each day. The Burgess Fitness Center director also announces the third annual Lighten Up Northeast contest with the grand prize being $500 for both the male and female winners of the competition. With the change of the year and decade, Walker also talks about how people can keep their New Year's resolutions to lose weight and have a healthier lifestyle and how not only the individual spurs on success but his or her entire network have a helping hand in it as well. Between the segments, Kollmeyer gives a rundown of events that are happening in the next 10 days and also mentions a few events to be on the lookout for later in the month.
