Recent odds have Oregon Football as the 2nd-most likely team to win the Pac-12 in 2022, ahead of Utah and behind USC. While they're certainly the favorites in the Pac-12 North, are they really the 2nd-most likely team that could win the conference this Fall? Them being favored ahead of Utah after last season's 2 blowout losses is a touch surprising, but it helps greatly that they play in the weaker Pac-12 North.

On this episode of Locked On Ducks, Spencer McLaughlin examines where Oregon Football currently stands going into next season compared to the other potential contenders in the Pac-12. In 2022, it's likely Oregon is contending for the Pac-12 North once again with Washington State and Oregon State--could Washington or Stanford play into the equation?

Today's show concludes with a mailbag question about Dan Lanning and how he might assemble the Ducks' roster in the coming years. Is it best to fit your scheme to the roster or fit the roster to the scheme? Both will take place, and we are likely to see Lanning bring in the sorts of players on defense who best fit his 4-2-5 defensive scheme. Oregon has had success with that defensive alignment before (2019-20 w/Andy Avalos) and could once again have the right personnel for that philosophy.
