At this point in the recruiting process, most of the recruiting wins and verbal commitments Oregon Football has landed have come from the offensive side of the ball. Players like 5-star OL Josh Connerly, 4-star WR Kyler Kasper, 4-star WR Jurrion Dickey, and 4-star RB Dante Dowdell have given Duck fans optimism about the playmakers they could have offensively in the coming years. Dan Lanning, as a national-champion defensive coordinator, has high expectations for the sorts of defensive players he will eventually get to commit to Oregon as well.

The offensive line has been a clear strength in recent seasons, but aside from Josh Connerly the Ducks are lacking some depth because of some offseason transfers this year. Getting a premier EDGE rusher should also be of top concern for the defense of Dan Lanning and Tosh Lupoi.
Oregon has landed its latest verbal commitment in the Class of 2023 as Lanning and co. look to build out their first full recruiting class. 4-star DB (safety) Kodi Decambra committed to Oregon over other Pac-12 schools including conference rivals Oregon State and Washington. Decambra, an athlete who's listed primarily as a safety, plays one of the positions that the Ducks might be needing bodies for in the immediate future.
