Hi! My name is Kim. I am a former kindergarten teacher turned SAHM and have 2 daughters.
I left my teaching career in June 2014 after six short years due to teacher burnout. I never thought I would be a SAHM but knew I needed time to figure things out. I wasn’t adjusting to my new role very well. Every day felt like a struggle.
I decided to see a counselor in November 2014. During that time, I was told that I was codependent, anxious, and affected by childhood emotional neglect. I became obsessed with healing those labels but the more I focused on them the more they persisted. After a year and a half of seeing the counselor, I felt like I was stuck in the same place I started and decided it was time to try something else.
I turned to holistic modalities - yoga, meditation, and Reiki. It felt like things were finally starting to shift. Yet there was still something missing.
In a roundabout way I started working 1:1 with a life coach and breakthroughs started happening. The biggest breakthrough of all happened at a weekend-long, group seminar when the coach taught us about emotional needs and patterns. The starts aligned and I realized nothing was wrong with me and never had been. That weekend was life changing!
