Taegeuk is a set of Poomsae, or defined pattern of defense-and-attack forms, used to teach Taekwondo. It is the predominant set of forms used around the globe by Dojangs studying under the authority of the Kukkiwon. In this informative episode Taekwondo Life Magazine's Editor-in-Chief, Marc Zirogiannis, gives a brief overview of the form-set. He breaks down the progression of each of the eight Taegeuk forms, which guide a colored belt Taekwondo student on their journey to 1st Dan Black Belt. It is the hope that by developing a greater understanding of the Taegeuk forms, and their place in a student's journey, that our listeners will find greater meaning to their practice of these beautiful and important patterns.
