Description

In June 1999, Ricky McCormick was found dead in a field near West Alton, Missouri. He had not been reported missing. His cause of death was never determined. And tucked inside his pockets were two handwritten notes filled with letters, numbers, parentheses, and strange coded phrases that would become one of the FBI’s most baffling unsolved mysteries.

For years, investigators and cryptanalysts tried to break what became known as Ricky McCormick’s encrypted notes. The FBI Cryptanalysis and Racketeering Records Unit even asked the public for help, hoping the mysterious cipher might reveal where Ricky had been, who he had seen, and what happened before his death. But decades later, the code remains unsolved—and so does the question of whether Ricky McCormick was murdered, used as a messenger, or carrying a secret no one has been able to read.

Kris and Rob dig into the strange death of Ricky McCormick, the mysterious code found in his pocket, the Missouri cold case that still confounds investigators, and the chilling possibility that the biggest clue has been sitting in plain sight all along.
