Thee End: What About Israel?
1.PROPHECIES about Israel.
·When will these prophecies be fulfilled?
The answer depends on WHICH Israel the prophecies refer to, since there are TWO Israels.
“For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel.” Romans 9:6 (NIV)
2.PHYSICAL Israel - the nation.
·Much prophecy has already been FULFILLED by physical Israel.
- God gave them their LAND.
- God sent them into CAPTIVITY.
- God brought them back to their HOMELAND.
- God allowed them to rebuild their TEMPLE.
- God brought JESUS into the world through them.
·At Jesus; DEATH on the cross, God RETIRED physical Israel from His service.
Israel’s Role = PREPARATION
3.SPIRITUAL Israel - the CHURCH.
“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God…” 1 Peter 2:9-10a (NIV)
Takeaway: Become a part of God’s new, spiritual ISRAEL - the CHURCH.
