What a way to start a new year with a guest like Black and Tan enthusiast Fred Bright!
Fred and Steve’s friendship goes back to the UKC days but Fred’s involvement with coon hunting and particularly with Black and Tans goes back much farther. Fred served the Purina Outstanding Nite Hunt Coonhound Award as a committeeman from nearly thirty years and met many history figures face to face; Hans Wagner, Joe Bloodworth and Plott icon John Plott.
Fred and Steve hunted together several years on the incomparable Southern Heritage Plantation near Albany, Georgia when Steve was managing the UKC Winter Classic event each January. The guys were able to catch up at the recent Grand American Coon Hunt where the stories flowed like ice water in a South Carolina swamp. From shallow to deep they flow and if lean in real close, they’ll certainly get your attention.
If you enjoy old school coon hunting memories from a guy that may walk with a stick but has left big tracks in the coonhound world for decades, this one is right up your alley.
