Bruce Cassidy brought grit, accountability, discipline and structure to VGK and we believe there is no way this team would have won the Cup without him this season. Jonathan Marchessault, appearing on the "Spittin Chicklets" podcast said he was a hard nosed coach and a little tougher than those previously behind the bench. He said he would be MFing players if they turned the puck over on the first shift. He is intense. The Conn Smythe winner also said Cassidy toned down a lot in the playoffs. He said he was making adjustments every game to make the team better. Cassidy is the first coach to win 50 or more games in back to back seasons with different teams. When speaking about rental Ivan Barbeshev, Marchessault said VGK didn't have grit in the other years. Cassidy wanted his team to play more physical. Marchessault also had some funny stories about his teammates including Phil Kessel. We also talked about Adin Hill and posed the question "Hill Yes" (gets re-signed.) Or, "Hill No." (doesn't get re-signed by VGK.) And, Chris Gawlik and his family Painted The Ice at T-Mobile Arena on Tuesday.
