The Florida Panthers outlasted the Edmonton Oilers in an epic seventh game, 2-1, to capture the first Stanley Cup in its history. In the end, battling back from 0-3 to force a seventh game was a monumental task for Edmonton. The Oilers simply ran out of gas, especially the final two minutes of Game 7. Florida wins the series 4-3. Conner McDavid won the Conn Smythe Awards, as playoff MVP. With the Cup Final behind us now, the hockey world heads to Las Vegas for this week's NHL Awards ceremony at Fontainbleau on Thursday, followed by this weekend's draft at the Sphere.
