We talked about VGK lacking a response on Thursday episode and Thursday night, the Golden Knights spotted the Flames a power play goal early, then Jack Eichel scored to tie the game in first. The goal was a big momentum boost as the Golden Knights erupted for four second period goals enroute to a 6-1 final over the top team in the Western Conference. The Golden Knights were able to avoid a physical Edmonton game early and the Flames wound up getting frustrated and took bad penalties. It was all about VGK's response on Thursday night. And, Logan Thompson was the surprise starter for VGK in net. He replaced Robin Lehner, who was ineffective in the loss to Vancouver Tuesday. Thompson stopped 35 shots in winning his fifth straight game. Thompson, the Calgary native, was excited about winning in his hometown. The Golden Knights Pete DeBoer said he feels VGK has to win five of it's final seven games to get into the playoffs.
