The Golden Knights posted a workmanlike 4-1 victory over the Minnesota Wild, one of the hottest teams in the NHL, on Saturday night. VGK managed the puck well and played solid defense in the contest. And Laurent Brossoit stopped 29 of 30 shots he faced and could be moving up the goaltender pecking order to the top spot. Bruce Cassidy called the game perhaps the best complete game this season. He was really pleased at the way VGK won puck battles and limited their turnovers. Chandler Stephenson even won a faceoff to assist on Zach Whitecloud's goal. We could see the Wild muck up the game Monday. We could see Jonathan Quick face Philip Gustavsson in the battle of goalies. Wild Coach Dean Evenson said his team lacked energy in Las Vegas. But he feels they will play better in Minneapolis on Monday.
