The Golden Knights exploded for eight goals in the opener vs Colorado Wednesday night. VGK's top line of Eichel, Barbashev and Stone accounted for 11 points, led by Eichel's four assists on the night. Off-season acquisition Victor Olofsson had two goals in his VGK debut. The Golden Knights scored twice within :25 late in the first period to take a 3-1 lead. The Avs played the rest of the night playing catchup. Colorado's Mikko Rantanen had a hat trick in the loss.
