Joel Jacinto, West Adams WorkSource Business Representative, “Talks Story” with AADAP President Emeritus, Mike Watanabe and PACE President and CEO, Kerry Doi about the foundations of Asian American nonprofit social services in Los Angeles and how the social justice movement and grassroots philosophy helped bring about real change. Both Mike and Kerry hail from Hawaii, and share how they went from plantations to leading multi-million dollar agencies, impacting thousands of lives every day. Collectively, they have over a century of experience in the nonprofit sector! Hear stories about the "Lunch Bunch", a group of API leaders who banded together to advocate for services for Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, and how that's led to amazing programs today. Mike and Kerry also have a good time talking with Joel about some of their favorite memories and people.
