Living on Another Level
Mountains are mentioned frequently in the Bible because they dotted the landscape where the stories take place. As a result, mountains are mentioned more than 500 times in Scripture. They have symbolism for Jewish and Christian cultures since they are “closer to God” who dwells in the heavens and God often revealed himself on a mountaintop.
Although the mountains in the Bible varied in size, shape, and location, the narrative they are in bring us one step closer to God.
My hope is to bring us all even one step closer to God through a study and celebration of these mountains and mountaintop experiences.
Because God still meets us on the mountaintop.
God still moves mountains.
And we can still look to the mountains from whence our help comes from.
