About City Council
The Edina City Council comprises a mayor and four Council Members who serve four-year staggered terms with elections in even-numbered years.
The Mayor and Council are responsible for the efficient operation of the city government through policies and ordinances that are carried out by the Council-appointed City Manager.
Specifically, the Council is responsible for budgeting, taxation and management of City property. The Council is accountable to the residents of the Edina.
Where to Watch:
Meetings of the Edina City Council are typically held 7 p.m. the first and third Tuesdays of the month in Edina City Hall, 4801 W. 50th St. The Council holds other special meetings from time to time.
Meetings of the Edina City Council are shown live on Edina TV and the City’s website. They are rebroadcast on Edina TV at 3 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sundays and Wednesdays, and 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Saturdays until the Council’s next meeting.
