Our brain functions as an incredibly powerful supercomputer, capable of remarkable feats. Yet, it possesses a limitation: it can only entertain a single thought at any given time. This phenomenon introduces the concept of the "Thinking Cost" — every moment spent pondering one idea eliminates countless other potential thoughts, each carrying its own Opportunity Cost. Toxic individuals further clutter our minds, monopolizing our mental processing. In this episode, I discuss the impact of these singular thoughts and two strategies to combat this clutter.
