Josh Axelrod, the Director of Communications and Media at the Lindsay Theater, is back once again to talk about another joint event with WQED!
Lindsay Theater is screening part of "Caregiving" a new PBS documentary that explores the frontlines of the caregiving movement. Executive produced by Bradley Cooper, this film shares intimate stories of individuals taking care of loved ones. It focuses on 6 family and professional caregivers, as they navigate everyday life. Josh talks about the 30-minute screening, that will also feature a reception in their Community Room before-hand, and a panel Q&A discussion afterwards.
In addition to WQED, the Pittsburgh chapter of Comfort Keepers is also sponsoring this free screening. They focus on providing in-home care to communities across Western Pennsylvania. Josh describes how the event all came together after the success of WQED's screenings of "Steel Links" and Comfort Keepers wish to engage their community.
Josh also highlights the Lindsay's upcoming Summer Series. This year, they are going back to the classics! Starting on June 22nd with "Casablanca" there will be screenings of films throughout the summer until September. Highlights include "The Goonies" celebrating a 40 year anniversary, and "Sound of Music" celebrating 60 years!
Lastly, Josh gives his opinion on upcoming films, such as "F1" and "Jurassic World Rebirth". Pittsburgh is the city that loves dinosaurs, and who can resist Jonathan Bailey with glasses?
You can see a portion of "Caregiving" on Thursday, June 26th at 6 pm at the Lindsay Theater and Cultural Center.
