In this episode, Artistic Director of Les Delices, Debra Nagy, and Grammy Award winning vocalist, Nicholas Phan, discuss their upcoming show presented by Chamber Music Pittsburgh.
Les Delices will premiere "A Moment’s Oblivion", a commissioned piece by Vietnamese-American composer Viet Cuong. Debra talks about the story of the piece which is based on a Confucian myth about a man losing his memory. This is the first installment of Les Delices Mythology Project, a concert series that Debra came up with to create new chamber repertoire.
Debra talks about the origins of the Cleveland group, how Nicholas and Debra became collaborators for this project, and the production of the Mythology Project. Nicholas talks about his personal connection to the commissioned piece, with his own life very closely mirroring the myth. He also hopes audiences will come to enjoy this beautifully curated program.
You can hear Les Delices and Nicholas Phan perform at the PNC Theatre on Monday, February 24th at 7:30 pm.
