It can be scary and terrifying to take that jump and make major change and be the catalyst for biggest changes, which is why I am beyond honored to talk to a goddamned warrior and today’s guest: Morgan Godvin.
Morgan spent five years addicted to heroin and four years incarcerated as a direct result of her addiction. In addition to her own use, she has lost her mom and four close friends to an overdose. Her own experience using harm reduction services and her love of hip hop to help her through her recovery, Morgan saw a need to provide overdose services to the music and entertainment industry. Her company, Beats Overdose, continues to dispense thousands of doses of naloxone and fentanyl test strips and has saved countless lives. She has been published in major media outlets like the LA times, Vice news and Esquire sharing her insight about her time incarcerated, in rehab and recovery and the first hand experience of the injustice of the US justice system and now strives for safer, healthier communities.
