In this episode, Tom and Steve interview American Ninja Warrior, Athlete, Public Speaker, Talk show Host, and Fear Overcomer, Justin Maina. Justin explains that he was picked on a lot in school, but he still had a dream of becoming an American Ninja Warrior. Through hard work and dedication he was able to achieve this dream and now he wants to use his story to inspire others. He believes that everyone has their own story and it matters, and he hopes that his story will encourage others to push themselves and reach their goals. Justin shares that growing up, he always wanted to belong, and was inspired by his older brother. In middle school, he started doing sit-ups after seeing a kid with bumps on his stomach. In high school, he started consistently training five days a week with some friends and doing muscle confusion. Eventually, he was asked to audition for Ninja Warrior, and he saw it as a walk in the park. Now a former competitor on American Ninja Warrior, Justin chooses to focus his energy on ministry. He was able to use his experience on the show to open doors for ministry and to show people how to steward their bodies with excellence. He believes that his physical strength and ability to do things like handstand push-ups and muscle-ups has been a great form of ministry, as people are often interested in learning how he does them. He also believes that the physical strength he has developed over time has prepared him for the mental and spiritual journey he is now on. There is so much we learned from Justin and we hope that you do too. Enjoy!
