The Musician
Whether performing solo or collaborating with other artists, Miki Vale commands attention with her smooth voice, quiet confidence, and powerful lyrics. She has performed at landmark venues and festivals in the US and internationally, from Hollywood and D.C. to Mumbai and Cairo. Miki has shared bills with notable artists like Marsha Ambrosius, Bahamadia, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, DJ Quik and Slick Rick. The Playwright
After working with San Diego’s Old Globe Theatre as DJ and sound designer for the 2016 and 2018 Globe for All Tour, Miki flipped the script and tried her hand at writing plays. In early 2019, her short play The Ex Games was showcased as a part of the theatre’s New Voices Festival. This led to a commission from the Old Globe for a full length play.
The Artivist & Educator
Miki Vale is as dedicated to cause as she is to her craft. Using art as education, she explores the impact of hip-hop culture on race, class, and gender. Her experiences ranges from teaching in classroom settings, performing at social justice events such as 2018 and 2019’s March for Black Womxn, and working as a cultural diplomat for Next Level Egypt (funded by the U.S. State Department). She is available to facilitate workshops and presentations, as well as participate on panels geared toward learners of all ages and demographics. Please contact for more information and rates.
