“I got comfortable with challenge, challenging spaces, challenging people, challenging, being the question asker, being the disrupter, I guess, because that's how my family viewed me. The coming out was disruptive.”
In this episode Angie talks to Claire Stewart-Hall founder of Equitable Coaching. Claire served as a leader in schools in the UK for twenty years in urban areas of economic disadvantage and poverty and has experience of supporting creativity, positivity and self-organising systems to enable positive cultures to grow.
They talk about Claire’s childhood growing up with a Protestant father and an Irish Catholic mother in 1980s England, coming out as a lesbian, and her role as a coach helping organisations to understand their racial biases. Claire and Angie explore the idea of the coach as doula for new ideas and strategies, and how to navigate equitable change through uncomfortable emotions.
