Description

Born to parents who were sharecroppers, Alice Malsenior Tallulah-Kate Walker is an American novelist, short story writer, poet, and social activist. She’s the author of the multi-award winning book “The Color Purple.”  

She published “The Color Purple” in 1982 and received in 1983 the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and the National Book Award.
