Description

Mayor Parker talks with Founder and Executive Director of Brown Girls Do Ballet, TaKiyah Wallace. TaKiyah started Brown Girls Do Ballet as a photo project in 2012 while searching for diverse classical ballet programs in Dallas for her daughter. The photo project took off, and now she travels the country shooting the project and spreading the mission of the Fort Worth-based Brown Girls Do Ballet organization by promoting diversity in the arts through scholarships, a mentor network, and community programs to empower young girls.
