When St. Cloud State University began building a new library, they expected to find dirt and stone.
Instead, they found graves.
Not one or two, but an entire buried section of the city’s past, still holding human remains beneath the surface.
In St. Cloud, that discovery wasn’t an anomaly. It was a pattern. Because in a place built on granite and industry, the past isn’t gone.
It’s just been built over.
